Cover for Carolina Dawn

Cover Reveal!

Carolina Dawn | Guy L. PaceThis is the cover for Carolina Dawn, the third and final book in the Spirit Missions series! This cover, created by Scott Deyett (InHouse Graphics) will grace the ebook editions of Carolina Dawn when it releases on February 14, 2018.

I think Scott did a great job here. I gave him some brief details on the main character, a little about the theme of the book and what Amy should have. Rather than stick with the dark blue theme of the previous books, he brought out the dawn for this one and it rocks.

The Title Breakdown

Carolina. The book takes place almost entirely in North Carolina. I hope y’all who live there can identify with the locations I use. Hope I didn’t destroy your house.

Dawn. Well, yes, there are a couple of scenes involving dawn breaking over North Carolina. But, you have to read the book to pick up why I used this title.

Blurb on Back Cover

Amy Grossman must decide about Paul Shannon’s proposal. Guilt over Joe’s death still eats at her. Then there is Lucy–a competitor for Paul’s affection–to deal with. She also fills her days with gardening, handling power outages, and perimeter guard duty.

A stranger arrives with dire news turning Amy’s life new directions. With its very survival on the line, the community must pull together one more time.

She knows God has a plan for her, but surely ending up zombie food couldn’t be part of that plan.

Could it?

Well, could it? That’s the question. Carolina Dawn will go on Amazon pre-sale later this week.
Stay tuned.

Building Anticipation

Building Anticipation

Anticipation | Guy L. PaceSometime in the next couple of weeks, you’ll see the final cover for Carolina Dawn. With this little post today I hope to build your anticipation for the cover, and the book.

Recently, Scott Deyett, my cover guy, sent a mockup of the cover for Carolina Dawn. It is awesome! The final, high-resolution images should be even more so. I sent Scott the page count for the book, and the ISBN and price bar code for the print version. So, now he has what he needs to correctly make the cover fit around the printed copy. The e-book cover image is just the front of the print cover, so that’s easy.

When the final cover is in, I will run a cover reveal. It will knock your sock off.

It is slowly coming together.

First Readers

The first readers, my wife and J. C. Wing of Wing Family Editing, think Carolina Dawn is pretty good. No brag. Just fact.

I will be putting our some advanced reader copies (ARCs) in the near future for some people who will read it and post up advanced reviews. I’ll post those in the blog as they come in.

The current planning date for Carolina Dawn‘s release is February 14, 2018.

Sometime around the first of February, both the e-book and print edition will on pre-sale or pre-order, so you can lock in your copy.

New Cover Reveal

Nasty Leftovers Cover Reveal

Here it is, the cover for Nasty Leftovers!

Nasty Leftovers Cover 2

Our cover designer, Scott Deyett, came through again with a cover full of color, drama, and intensity. This image will be on the ebook for Amazon, iBook, and Barnes & Noble Nook. We’ll get the full cover (front, spine, and back) in a few days that will be on the paperback.

We are on track for the March 15 launch date for the book, so check back for updates as we approach the date.

Here’s a short excerpt to whet your appetite.

—–

Amy shivered and Paul felt sweat trickle down his spine. He patted his vest, then reached into his pack and felt the hilt of the sword. His stomach churned and he felt his will begin to whither.

“It’s just standing there,” Amy said. Paul looked back out the window.

The hound swung its huge head left and right, slowly, several times. Through the binoculars, Paul could see that the head was broad, like that of a mastiff, but the snout was long and massive like a Great Dane. The ears stood up straight and pointed. A thick neck connected the head to a powerful, heavily shouldered body.

Paul’s stomach churned again and his abdominal muscles fluttered.

“Father, I’m in Your hands,” he said, eyes closed. “Guide me so I can do what You require. May Your will be done.” The churning and fluttering stopped and he felt a warm comfort in his chest.

Amy put her hand on his shoulder.

“It’s moving again,” she said.

Cover Reveal: Sudden Mission

Sudden Mission Cover

Here is the cover for Sudden Mission! One of my early readers/editors saw this and said, “It’s perfect!” Below is part of the press kit for the book with marketing contact and information about Vox Dei.

About Sudden Mission

Satan, once one of God’s favorites, now His Adversary, grows impatient with the plan and begins to harvest souls. In a fell swoop, he throws reality out of whack and the world into chaos. God calls on Paul and his friends Amy and Joe to set things right. The young teens journey through a messed up world—with a little help from an angel—struggling against everything the Adversary can throw in their path to accomplish their Sudden Mission.

With their world and their parents’ lives hanging in the balance–and the Adversary sending everything from zombies to samurai to stand in their way–Paul will discover if he has the strength and faith to set things right again and stop Satan’s harvest.

ABOUT VOX DEI

Our name rhymes with Fox Day. We’re an imprint of Booktrope, a new type of publishing company founded in 2011 in Seattle, WA that’s pioneering a model called team publishing. Our mission at Vox Dei is to provide books for a primarily Christian audience that edify and entertain, encourage and inspire. While Christian themes are woven throughout our fiction, our purpose is not to preach a sermon but rather provide a quality alternative to the secular market for entertainment. Our non-fiction titles are intended to help readers explore the Bible in a more personal way and grow in their walk with Christ, while being informal in voice and approach. Whether fiction or non, our goal is to shine the light and love that is central to the Christian faith into a dark and messy world. Learn more at voxdeipublishing.com.
